Crash Cement Price, Don’t Allow Nigeria Implode – IPOB Tells Tinubu
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by the fearless leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to end the cement monopoly that is hurting the Nigerian economy and the people.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB accused the Nigerian government of favouring two Fulani-owned companies, Dangote and BUA, over other indigenous producers of cement and building materials. He said that this was a result of ethnic bigotry policies against the Igbos and their business interests.
He said that the high price of cement and building materials was causing hardship and suffering for the Igbos and other Nigerians, and warned that Nigeria could implode if the situation was not addressed urgently.
He advised Tinubu to reach out to Ibeto and other patriotic company owners of building materials for help in reducing the price of cement and building materials. He said that Ibeto cement was unfairly banned by the Obasanjo regime, and Tinubu should reverse this wicked and vicious policy.
He said that any government that restricts competition and favours monopoly is a wicked government that does not care about the people. He said that such a government is a government by the cabals and for the cabals. He urged Tinubu to bring back fair market prices by allowing competition.
He said that a bag of cement is currently sold for almost N12,000, while 12mm of iron rod is sold at N13,000. He said that these prices are outrageous because the capitalists have the backing of the government through monopoly to rip people off. He said that if care is not taken, many Nigerians will become homeless in the next five years, while the capitalists will keep making more money.
He said that IPOB is not begging the government not to allow Nigeria to crash, but rather warning them of the consequences. He said that Biafrans will continue to survive, eat, and build houses before Biafra comes.
