DSS Clears Air on Arrest Miyetti Allah President Over Nasarawa Vigilante Group

The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed the rumours that it arrested the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, over his involvement in a vigilante group in Nasarawa State.

The DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, issued a brief statement on Tuesday night, stating that Bodejo was not in the custody of the DSS.

The rumours of Bodejo’s arrest had spread across various media platforms, alleging that he was apprehended by the DSS at the Miyetti Allah’s office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The arrest was reportedly linked to the formation of a vigilante group, called Nomad vigilante group, by the Fulani socio-cultural organisation in Nasarawa State.

The Nomad vigilante group was launched last week by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, with the aim of assisting the security agencies in tackling the rising cases of criminality in the north-central state.

Bodejo had said that the vigilante group comprised of 1,144 Fulani youths drawn from different communities in the 13 LGAs of the state. He also said that the group was open to more members, with a target of reaching 4,000 youths.
