FCT Police Nab Abuja’s Most Wanted Kidnapper, Dahiru Adamu After Wike’s N20m Bounty
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Police has achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and terrorism in Abuja and its environs. The command has arrested Dahiru Adamu, a notorious kidnapper who has been on the run for a long time.
The arrest was made possible by the N20 million reward announced by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday for the capture of Adamu and his accomplice, Abu Ibrahim. The duo have been terrorising the nation’s capital, abducting and killing innocent citizens.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest to DAILY POST on Friday. She said that Adamu was apprehended by a team of operatives after a fierce gun battle. She said that Ibrahim was still at large, but the police were closing in on him.
She said that the arrest of Adamu was a huge success for the command and the FCT administration, as it would restore peace and security in the territory. She commended the minister for his support and encouragement to the police. She also thanked the public for their cooperation and information that led to the arrest.
She said that the command would not relent in its efforts to rid the FCT of all criminal elements. She urged the residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. She said that more details on the arrest would be made available soon.
