Ganduje Mocks Kwankwaso, Says He Will Be His Grandfather When Joins APC

In a recent gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of APC, made a bold statement about the potential entry of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), into the ruling party. Ganduje intriguingly declared that joining APC would make Kwankwaso his “grandfather.”

Ganduje, addressing the crowd, emphasized the hierarchy within the party, stating that any new member, regardless of their status, becomes a subordinate and follower. He illustrated this point by highlighting his dominance across all states and Abuja, portraying himself as a political powerhouse.

Using a metaphor, Ganduje urged NNPP to “pack those perishable fruits” and join APC for preservation. The term “Jagora,” associated with Kwankwaso by his supporters, was playfully mentioned, hinting at a potential reconciliation between the two political figures.

The underlying political chess game becomes more apparent as reports circulate about President Bola Tinubu working to reconcile Ganduje and Kwankwaso, setting the stage for the 2027 presidential election. The dynamics of power, alliances, and the unfolding drama in Kano add an intriguing layer to the evolving political landscape. As the 2023 elections draw near, the political maneuvers and realignments within APC and beyond continue to shape the future of Nigerian politics.
