JAPA: Man Nabbed for Stealing Company Car to fund relocation

A man who planned to sell his company’s car and escape to Ghana with his family has been arrested by the police in Lagos State.

The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who spoke to NAN on Tuesday.

He said that the police received a tip-off on January 16, around 1 pm, about a Toyota Hilux vehicle that was allegedly stolen.

“A team of detectives swung into action based on the information. They traced and located the vehicle at Ilukogun village, which is a border area between Lagos State and Ogun,” he said.

He added that the vehicle was recovered from a man named Arthur Benjamin in the village.

“The suspect was arrested and he confessed to have stolen the vehicle from his work place, with an intention to sell and run away to Ghana with his family. Investigation is still in progress for possible arrest of other members of his gang,” he said.
