PDP Loses Ondo State Chairman, Fatai Adams

The Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is mourning the death of its suspended Chairman, Fatai Adams, who passed away on Wednesday, February 14. The cause of his death is still unknown.

The Punch reports that the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, confirmed the sad news in a phone conversation on Wednesday.

Peretei said: “Yes, it is true, but we will soon communicate with you properly on the incident.”

Adams was suspended by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP in Ondo State last month over allegations of anti-party activities. He was accused of engaging in actions that could tarnish the image and reputation of the party.

The SWC, in a statement signed by its nine members, said that Adams’ suspension was in line with Section 58(1b. c, f. h. and i) of the PDP Constitution as amended in 2017. They also gave him one week to appear before the party’s State Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.

The death of Adams is a huge blow to the PDP in Ondo State, which is still recovering from its defeat in the last governorship election.
