Peter Obi Urges Tinubu to Address Nigeria’s Security Crisis After Monarchs’ Killing in Ekiti

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to take charge of the worsening security situation in the country.

Obi made this call on his official X account on Monday, following the brutal killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State.

Daily24 Apps reported that the Elesun of Esun Ekiti and the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were ambushed and murdered by suspected bandits on their way back from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti. Obi, who is a former governor of Anambra State, expressed his sadness and anger over the incident.

He wrote, “We are heartbroken by the news that Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were killed today, cause of death: Insecurity and Tinubu.

“We urge Tinubu to wake up from his slumber and rescue Nigeria from imminent collapse. If you don’t speak up today, tomorrow, insecurity may claim you or someone you love.”
