Niger State Queries School Officials Over Pupil’s Viral Video
The Niger State Government has called the class teacher and headmaster of Kassim Primary School in Agaie Local Government Area to explain a viral video of a pupil using what has been called “vulgar language” in a debate.
The pupil, named Abdulkabir Abdulkadir, spoke against the motion that voting should be compulsory in Nigeria.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of politics in the country and criticized President Bola Tinubu, saying that his presidency has caused suffering for the people.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Niger State, Hadiza Mohammed, expressed her displeasure with the words used by the pupil.
She said that the video was “disturbing” and that the pupil seemed to have been influenced to use violent and vulgar language in his speech.
The ministry has summoned the class teacher and headmaster for warning, saying that students should avoid using violent language, especially as the pupil is a minor.
